Artist’s Statement

“My sculptures, more than pieces of stone, are expressive and have personalities that invite the viewer to respond. The viewer quickly imagines an environment for the sculpture and is thereby engaged in a participatory creative process. The poses of the sculptures only portray a moment suggesting something has happened. This momentary pose allows the viewer to create his own scenario to come.”  Fred Hummel
