In June Canada celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. In cooperation with Indigenous organizations, the Government of Canada chose June 21, the summer solstice, for National Aboriginal Day, now known as National Indigenous Peoples Day.

7:45pm | Artist and archaeologist Kris Nahrgang will lead a discussion of the deep Indigenous history of the Toronto waterfront and how it shaped the city we are today.
Kris will also unveil a newly completed white cedar pole (Totem) with design inspired by the healing path laid out by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
