Artist Summary

Brent McGillivray uses photographs of many vanishing historic sites and graphics as the inspiration to create paintings of disappearing urban and rural artifacts. By using a photorealistic style with watercolours, gouache and acrylics the viewer is intrigued and drawn to the image for a closer study. Price Range:

Full Biography

Born: 1954, Wakefield, Quebec

Graduate of:
Architectural Technology at Algonquin College, Ottawa
Fine Arts at the Ontario College of Art, Toronto
Printmaking at the Alberta College of Art, Calgary

Currently a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and has worked as a set designer and art director in the film industry in Toronto from 1993 to the present.

“I record through photography many vanishing historic sites and graphics. These inspire me to create paintings of disappearing urban and rural artifacts. By using a photorealistic style with watercolours, gouache and acrylics the viewer is intrigued and drawn to the image for a closer study.
